We understand compliance, in vague terms, is about checking boxes, providing assurance, closing gaps, and avoiding (or facing) consequences. The idea is, so we think, those boxes, expectations, controls, and deterrents will drive our operations to secure processes and technology. We may even accept that being compliant isn’t the same as being secure, but the key is knowing how to drive security without compliance as our steering wheel.
