John Hennessey serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of OneNet, a division of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.  In this role, John directs the establishment of OneNet’s technical vision and leads all aspects of OneNet’s technology strategy.  He also leads engagements and builds relationships with state higher education institutions and other state, regional and national networks and consortiums.

Prior to joining OneNet in March 2021, John served in the role of IT Operations Manager for the Chickasaw Nation. He also has over 20 years of experience in higher education, including roles as Director of Library Technology Platforms for the University of Oklahoma and Manager of IT Cecurity & Infrastructure for the Pennsylvania State University.

John is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in computer science. He also received a Master of Library and Information Studies with a focus on information technology from the University of Oklahoma.
